Things I’ve been digging lately

Like the title says, here are some things I’ve been digging lately.

TRESemme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo
I used to be able to go, like, four days between hair-washing, but then I went and got old and pregnant and birthed a person and now I have to wash every single day. I am lazy, though, and I don’t like washing (and styling, oh god, the styling!) every single day, so: Dry shampoo.

Over the years, I’ve become quite a connoisseur of dry shampoos. The OG, Pssssst!, works fine. If my mom and dad taught me anything, however, it’s that “fine” is not good. Fine is just fine and you can always do better than fine. Not in the mood to spend a lot or go anywhere but Target, I made the rounds through all the dry shampoos I could find. Suave was good, but it ran out after a week (I am a liberal dry shampoo applier). Dove sucked ass. I can’t remember why, I just know I didn’t like it. I think maybe the sprayer broke.

Then I tried the TRESemme because I liked how they had a bunch of different formulas. I know they’re probably all exactly the same, but it gave me hope to think that the Really, Really Greasy Hobo hair (I’m paraphrasing) formula would actually work. And it does! And it’s lasted over a month! Winner!

Essie Good To Go Rapid Dry Topcoat
I always decide to do my nails at, like 7pm. I am usually in bed, reading, if not asleep, by 9pm. You can see where this is going, yes? I bought this topcoat on a whim awhile back and I’m never going back to another kind, ever. I can paint my nails in bed at 8:30pm, watch a show, lights out at 9pm, and I wake up with no sheet marks. NO SHEET MARKS, LADIES! Amazing.

Gap Broken-In Straight Khakis
I am finally ready to tell you that I have two pairs of these and I love them and SO WHAT. Khakis are cool, OKAY? I have these in olive green and navy and part of me really, really wants a pair in orange or kelly green, but it was 106 degrees recently, so something tells me I probably don’t need more PANTS.

These khakis are really, really fab, though. They fit well and have a little give to them. They’re not low-waisted or high-waisted, but rather, perfect-to-hide-your-leftover-baby-gut-waisted. I wear them to work with a blazer and heels and I wear them around on the weekends with sandals. I might also sleep in them. (Okay, no I don’t. NOT YET.)

Party in the front…

Business in the back…

5.31.12 - Day 227
And ain’t no party like a khaki party ’cause a khaki party don’t stop.

Okay, I’m really curious about that dry shampoo. I’ve been reluctant to try it myself because I’ve never been able to get a straight like/dislike from friends who have, I’m a follower and not a leader :-P. Also, a wimp! Anyways, this summer humidity makes blow drying….well…ughh so time to try it I suppose!

  3. Rhi says:

I am a giant fan of those Gap khakis. I have them in green and pink (should probably get a pair in a normal color).

  4. Raven says:

You know I am going to be a big fan of those khakis! I totally need them in navy.

  5. Are khakis still a thing? Khakis are still a thing? These look so cute!
