I took this picture tonight around 5:15 PM, while we were in the car on the way to dinner. I’m not usually a sunset-noticer, but how pretty is this?!

She will get mad at me for posting this picture. Sorry Melisa, I think it’s cute…

These are some earrings circa 1986 that I stole from my mom this past weekend. You see, one of our favorite pastimes is trying on all her old jewelry from the ’80s and laughing hysterically at the fact that she actually wore coral-colored wooden hoop earrings. In my world, the ’80s are totally back in a big way, so rather than just trying on all her stuff and laughing at ourselves, we tried on all her stuff, laughed at ourselves, and then I took a bunch of stuff home. To wear. Out in public.

This is me and Chris and my best friend Carrie and her husband Matt at Luigi’s this morning.

Carrie and I have been friends since we were 10, which means we’ve seen each other through some extremely dorky fashion “trends,” such as the tie-dyed shirt, the sunflower hat, and the beret. One of us (who, me?) may have even worn her grandfather’s golf hat through her entire eighth grade year of junior high. Since I’m an only child and Carrie doesn’t have any sisters, we like to pretend like we’re twin sisters, separated at birth. The weird thing is, though, things have actually happened to us that make us believe we really are twin sisters. Case(s) in point:

1. One day, after high-school English class, Carrie and I were walking out of the building and I missed a step going down the stairs and Carrie’s heart skipped a beat. Whoa, totally trippy, right?

Here’s my new wallet!!! I bought it yesterday at my most favoritest boutique ever, the Chic Boutique. My original idea for this post was to lay out all the cute and unique things I’ve gotten from there and take a picture of them because it’s quite the eclectic mix of items. When I got to thinking about it, though, I realized that I have three dresses, two tops, two handbags, three pairs of earrings, [now] two wallets, one necklace, and one canvas “I’m Not a Plastic Bag” bag. And hauling all that out just to take a picture of it for my silly blog was too much work. So here’s the new wallet. It’s bigger and has more pockets than my old one and it’s kind of a knock-off of the Lodis wallets, except that it’s like a quarter of the price. Chris, you’re welcome.

Oh, and notice the coordinating gray hoodies…Once again, we are undoubtedly, albeit adorably, married.

Or not. A couple months ago, Chris and I made a cork board out of [some of our thousands of] wine corks. You can’t tell from the picture (because look at how arty I got with this shot! Yeah, I know. Awesome.), but it looks a little ghetto. There are gaps between corks and glue trails, but for our first time, I guess it’s not too bad…plus, the thing actually does work as a cork board. Anyway, don’t be surprised if you receive one for Christmas or a birthday. Just sayin…

Too bad they lost. Oh, well, at least Chris is outfitted with a brand new, lime green hat, thanks to yours truly…
